Blue Stars Mourn Passing of Bob Smith
Feb 14, 2008 4:02 PM
|
| It is with much regret that the Blue Stars report the passing of former member and board member Bob Smith. Bob (known as Bobby Blue Star when he marched) was a drummer in the Blue Stars during the 70s and returned to the organization when his son marched in the 1990s. Bob and his wife Deb (also an alumnus and board member) were instrumental in the corps' growth and success during the 90s and beyond. |

A Volunteer's View From The Road
Jul 17, 2003 7:45 AM
|
My name is Brian Stahlkopf and I am an alumnus of the Blue Stars who marched from 1979-81. After being away from drum corps for several years and hearing the corps was in need of assistance, I agreed to spend a portion of my summer vacation going on the road with the corps from July 3-13. My volunteer duties primarily consisted of assisting the head cook provide the corps with 3 meals and a snack a day. The experience was challenging, insightful, rewarding and brought back many memories of what it means to be a Blue Star....link to the rest of the story |
