How many total miles did we travel starting in Indianapolis and ending in Pasadena? I thought it was something like 20,000, but someone told me that couldn't have been right and maybe I was thinking of 2,000. (I was NOT thinking of 2,000... I don't know how many times I saw 3 and 4 hundred miles on the board for that night's ride...)

Anyone?

Thank you!

Kristina

OK. Thanks. Yeah, I just tried putting rehearsal and show sites into Mapquest, including the Indiana State Fairgrounds, multiple trips to the Rosebowl and back to the rehearsal site, and ending with going from the Rosebowl to LAX. The total was 11,984.62 miles. Naturally, I don't know if Mapquest used the same routes, and this doesn't include Wal-Mart runs and detours for rest stops.

Thanks again,
Kristina

most of the maps ran on my computer all summer. i kept individual daily maps, as well as a full tour map just to keep perspective on things. (also had one id' remove stops from to get the miles remaining, as you may have seen on the cook truck towards the end of tour)

Brad, was the 16k with the drive back to La Crosse or with Incidental driving (grocery runs\med runs\airport runs)?

You want disturbing? Does the picture below ring any bells? What disturbs me is that I was able to sleep like the dead with the lights glaring, no air conditioning, and in a bathroom. shutup.gif A cookie for each correct person identification:

I don't want to say anything negative about our hosts, bless their souls, but it was a place where the gym and all the classrooms were locked up. I believe you may have left the tour for a week or so after this stop.

hm.. well i left for about 5 days after menomonie.. but i dont think that was menomonie... the housing contact there was really nice, gave us everything we needed.

and left for one day after that in texas to spend some time in college station (love that town btw, id love to see a show at kyle field)

the real question is, was i really off tour, or did everyone think i was because we hit a stretch where the van drivers went nocturnal and didnt see anyone for a week? lol.

im trying to think of a place where the classrooms AND gym were locked out.... dubuque? erie, pa? salem had the classrooms locked up, but we had gym access (that was my first guess actually)

Sorry Kristina, but I'm on a roll. Another memorable moment on tour (if you're not a volunteer and weren't in Sedona, you won't get it). More cookies for correct person identifications:
