Dear Friend of the Blue Stars,

I am writing to you as the new Corps Director/Director of Youth Programs for the Blue Stars Drum & Bugle Corps. I want to introduce myself and to ask for your support for our upcoming season. Planning and rehearsals for the 2008 season have been going exceedingly well, and Executive Director Brad Furlano and I are extremely excited about the upcoming year. I am always amazed at the talent and character of the young adults who make up our membership and how the Blue Stars' experience helps to further shape their lives.

Highlighting some of the changes for 2008 is the appointment of two new members to our great design team (read full bios at www.bluestars.org/staff):
* Kevin Ford - Drill Designer
* Michael Shapiro - Color Guard Designer and Caption Head
These two gentlemen join Donnie VanDoren, Frank Sullivan, Brent Montgomery, Seth Adams, and Fred Feeney to complete a team of designers that ranks among the best in the activity. They, along with our administrative team, will provide our members, alumni, fans, and supporters with a season to remember in 2008.

BUT, WE CAN'T DO IT WITHOUT YOUR HELP! We rely on the generous support of people like you to offset the considerable costs of touring and keep tuition as low as possible for our students. The costs to take a national level drum and bugle corps down the road are skyrocketing. Diesel fuel is approaching $4 per gallon. Insurance and other transportation costs have never been higher. We need your financial support to continue providing 150 students with the positive experience that is the Blue Stars Drum & Bugle Corps.
