What makes us different?
Here are a few things that set the Blue Stars apart:
- The Show
Year after year the Blue Stars develop a sophisticated product that is
rewarding to perform, and also engaging to the audience. Here you'll be
in a corps that people love to watch.
- Instructors that teach
Besides having one of the most accomplished staffs in the activity, Blue Stars staff members love teaching. They're here exclusively because they love the corps and want it to be successful and that comes through in their pedagogical approach.
- Teaching with information and feedback, rather than endless repetition.
At Blue Stars our teaching style is based on making you a great performer
and a great teacher. Rather than simply having the right
technique beaten into you by rep after rep after rep, you'll be given the
information you need to fix the mistake on your own.
- Excellence through education.
Helping you become a great teacher means providing the same positive
environment you'll someday provide your students. Our staff doesn't employ
public humiliation, swearing or yelling to make a point; they simply provide
you with the information you need.
- No hazing, 'rookie talent,' or 'rookie jobs'
These activities don't make you a better person, so they don't happen here.
- Breaks for laundry and free time
Because we strive to run the most efficient and effective rehearsals possible,
you will be able to enjoy ample free time with your fellow members.
We recognize how significant time away from rehearsal can be in the development
of our members.
- Consistent food and sleep schedule
Your first year in corps will be full of challenges - don't let lack of food
or sleep be one of them. Because our staff are educators, we offer well-run,
well-planned rehearsals.
