Amy Frost lives in Phoenix, Arizona and will graduate in May 2008 from Arizona State University with her BA in Instrumental Music Education. She has been playing trumpet for over 14 years and has studied trumpet privately and in group form with Ray Nelson, Brian Shook, Jeff Biancalana, David Hunsicker and David Hickman. In her sophomore and junior year at ASU, Amy was the principal trumpet player with the university's Wind Ensemble. She then was a trumpet player in ASU's prestigious Wind Symphony her senior year, being the first music education major to do so. Amy also currently holds the Chapter President position for CMENC (Collegiate Music Educators National Conference) at Arizona State. Amy began her drum corps career in 2001 marching with the Division III corps Copperstar from Gilbert, Arizona. She then marched for the Santa Clara Vanguard in 2003 and remained with the corps for four years as a soloist for three years and co-section leader for two, aging out in 2006. Amy was also named the 2006 I&E Trumpet Champion for Drum Corps International. In Arizona, Amy has worked with several high school marching programs but currently teaches music and visual technique with Dobson High School in Mesa and Horizon High School in Scottsdale. She also teaches trumpet privately through out the valley. |
