Andrew Houston

Visual Instructor

Andrew Houston is currently a music education/trumpet performance student at THE Northern Kentucky University. He has performed with the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, KMEA Intercollegiate Jazz Band, and various ensembles through NKU.

He has taught several Northern Kentucky high school marching band programs, including Lloyd Memorial (alma mater), Campbell County, Beechwood, Ryle, and Conner. He currently works with the Dixie Heights Marching Colonels as their visual caption head.

His drum corps experience includes marching soprano for the Cavaliers from 1996-2000. He was on staff with the Marion Glory Cadets from 2001-2004, as tour director from 2002-2004 and brass caption head from 2003-2004, instructing the group to the high brass award for DCM Championships and a bronze medal in the DCI Div III Championships, both in 2003.

He currently is the interim horn instructor for the all-age Cincinnati Tradition Drum and Bugle Corps, where he began as a member in 2005 and designed their first (in several years) drill book in 2007.

His hobbies include hiking, biking, getting lost, long walks on the beach, and candlelight dinners with that special someone. He is a Sagittarius.
