Angie Mefford is in her 14th year as a music educator in the Missouri public schools. Currently she is in her 10th year as assistant director of bands at Rockwood Summit High School in Fenton, MO where she teaches marching band, concert and symphonic band, guitar classes, and 6th grade beginning low brass, French Horn and percussion. Prior to teaching in Rockwood she was the director of bands in the Grandview school district for 3 years where she greatly improved the enrollment, involvement, and performance level of the band. Many of her students have performed at State level solo and ensemble festival, district level honor bands and the Missouri All-State band. She has also worked as a brass and visual tech at many local Missouri high schools over the years. Angie holds a bachelor of science in music education from Missouri State University where she performed in many ensembles such as wind ensemble, concert band, jazz band, brass choir, horn choir, brass quintet, jazz combo and marching band. Angie played lead mellophone in the World Champion 1991 Star of Indiana Drum and Bugle Corps. She returned to Star of Indiana in the 1994 season of Brass Theater as a mellophone and Horn player. This past season she performed with Star United, a DCA mini corps which won the championship the last two years. This will be her second year with the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps.
