Melissa Primavera received her Bachelor's degree in Music Education from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She achieved the prestigious role of Principal Euphonium in the NMSU Symphonic Winds for 3 years. She has taught a few high school band programs in the New Mexico area, along with the Pride of NMSU marching band. She is currently a graduate student at Illinois State University studying Euphonium Perfomance and Music Therapy.

Melissa's drum corps career began with the Blue Knights drum and bugle corps from Denver, Colorado, where she dedicated 4 years. In the summer of 2007, she competed in DCI's Individual and Ensemble and received the gold medal in the baritone caption. In 2008 she was a performer in Odyssey- an all female cast of brass, percussion, and dancers that toured Japan. This will be her third year teaching the baritone/euphonium line for the Blue Stars. She is very excited for the upcoming season and looking forward to working with an incredible staff and dedicated members of the Blue Star family!
