Ron Hardin

Visual Coordinator

Ron Hardin is the Director of Bands at Bellevue East High School, in Bellevue, NE. Previously, Ron served as Director of Bands at Clayton Valley High School in Concord, CA.

Ron's drum and bugle corps experience is extensive. From 2002-06, he served as the Visual Caption head of the Santa Clara Vanguard. Prior to his involvement with SCV, he was a visual instructor at the Concord Blue Devils for eight award-winning seasons. His additional drum corps experience includes involvement with Velvet Knights, Star of Indiana, and Allegiance Elite. Ron has designed shows for Yamato, Pride of the Lions, Magic of Orlando and Minnesota Brass.

Ron is also the past conductor and founder of the Diablo Wind Symphony. He has judged marching band competitions and percussion contests around the country and has been actively involved as an adjudicator's trainer in his home state.

Hardin has designed shows for numerous high schools, colleges, drum corps, winter guards, winter percussion lines and marching bands. Currently Ron is affiliated with Creative Solutions, based in Oregon. His involvement with Winter Guard International is extensive, serving as a marching percussion adjudicator and as a former Director of The Friendship Cup. Ron has also produced an instructional video for use with high school marching bands.

Ron has served as President of the Contra Costa County Band Director's Association and Vice-President and Contest Coordinator of the Western Band Association. He was the recipient of the Jack R. Snyder Young Band Director's Award in 2000. When his is not teaching or conducting, Ron finds time to play bass trombone with several ensembles. Ron's greatest pride and joy is his family, his wife Molly, and their daughters Emma and Celeste.

"I'm thrilled to be able to work with my mentor, Donnie VanDoren, as well as several other old friends and alumni from the past!" Ron looks to help solidify a great existing team, and help the Blue Stars reach the next level in their performance and educational goals.
