Trevor Cox began his marching career at University High School in Orlando, Fl under the direction of Pat Culler and James Smisek. In 2000 he joined the baritone section at Carolina Crown and continued as a euphonium until he aged out in 2002. In 2003 he joined the brass staff at Teal Sound. 2004 through 2006 he was on the visual staff with the Seattle Cascades working under John Freeman. In 2007 Trevor took a summer away from Drum Corps to finish his degree in English from the University of Central Florida. In 2008 He got back in Drum Corps as the Visual Caption Head for Spokane Thunder, leading them into Open Class Finals for the first time in Corps history. Thunder also was awarded the Most Improved Corps Award that season. In 2009 Trevor made a return to the Cascades before joining the Blue Stars for the 2010 season. Away from Drum Corps Trevor is a Language Arts teacher In Orlando. He has also been the director of the Cypress Creek High School Colorguard in addition to his duties as the visual caption head for the marching band. He has been with the band since 2002, winning 3 state championships 2 as caption head in 2007 and 2010. He has worked with numerous band around Florida and Washington, including East River High, Winter Park High, Boone High School, and Central Valley High School. Trevor is really excited to be back at the Blue Stars for the 2011 season and looks forward to working with the incredibly talented and driven members, staff, and alumni. |
